ABOUT THE COURSE

Ted Robinson designed Chaparral Golf Course. Several Ted Robinson-designed courses in the Coachella Valley, including the Marriott Desert Springs Valley and Palm courses. He also designed the Celebrity and Players golf courses at Indian Wells Golf Resort. He did his executive course masterpiece at Chaparral Country Club, affectionately known as “The Little Monster.”

As one will see viewing the course, it is a challenging Par 60. It has six Par 4s and twelve Par 3s. From the back tees, the Blue Tees, the course is only 3914 yards. However, there are six Par’s 3’s that measure over two hundred yards. Hole nine carries 175 yards over water and challenges the best golfers. Although the golf course has thirteen water hazards, most of them are negotiable. However, the water is a major issue when playing the course. It does not get the nickname for nothing. The following is a hole-by-hole description of the course.

How to Play

This is a Par 3 that used to be entirely over water until members got tired of losing their golf balls to a watery grave. It is a green guarded by two bunkers on the left and on the right and many players have trouble keeping it away from them. Although considered the easiest hole on the course, it can present the player with problems.

DRIVING RANGE

The driving range is in the wash in the back of the housing development but very wide and into the wind. This is helpful when learning to play golf.

The range has flags to indicate the distances golfers usually hit. In addition to the driving range, a short club range is nearby.

PRACTICE FACILITY

Chaparral Country Club has a driving range for members to practice their golf that is located off of Conejo Circle Drive. There you will find the driving range and a place to practice your pitching, chipping and sand play.

We have two putting greens located near the clubhouse for one to hone their putting skills. There is a pitching area near the clubhouse to warm up the pitch shots before playing

GOLF COURSE DRESS CODE

Appropriate golfing attire, collared shirts, golf or tennis shoes and hats. The limit of shorts and skirts will be no shorter than six inches above the middle of the back of the knee.

All golfers must wear soft spike golf shoes.
